GBP Currency Symbol

Im trying to get the english GBP currency symbol using; 

num.setTextFormat('£####.##');


Its returning �100.00 instead... Um???

Many Apologises... it works perfectly, I had an error in my code that I noticed when trying to put together an example of the error I thought I had.
