prototype (Ajax) library & AW don't play nice

I have the need for ajax functionality and would like to use a js ajax framework. I have tried prototype (http://prototype.conio.net/) which works fine but, all ActiveWidgets tables get really screwed up when I import the prototype library (even if I don't even use it).

Does anybody have any suggestions of another good ajax library that doesn't mess ActiveWidgets up or anything I can do to prototype to still use ActiveWidgets? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Joe,

I had same issue (see earlier thread:
/javascript.forum.8123.2/conflicts-with-other-javascript-libraries.html)

I use an Ajax library called AjaxRequest from ajaxtoolbox.com, which seems to live alongside AW OK.

Joe,

I loaded Prototype 1.4.0 with AW 2.0b4 and did not see any problem. Could you please describe what was wrong in your case?

:-(

I just found a case where Prototype breaks AW (2.0b4) -

That will be corrected in RC1

Really Simple History (RSH) framework.
For anyone who wants to incorporate bookmarking and back button support in their AJAX apps. have a look at the site below. Seems like a very light weight framework...though I haven't done any spiking yet :)
Does not support Safari!

(fixed) 2.0 RC1 should now work fine with Prototype...
