Combo in IE

I'm having big problems with combo-boxes in Internet Explorer, I have started a topic before when I had problems with popup-window. It didn't match the width I declared. It is still listed as a know bug not fixed in "General Bugs". Now I have a new problem: sometimes when the user dubbel-clicked on the combo the user can not select any value from the popup. This only appears in IE. Since a solution for the problems in Internet Explorer is not (yet) available. Is there a way to use the code Mozilla uses for popup-window functions even in IE? I've read the code and what I can see it uses a div instead of createPopup..
is there a way, please. My patience with combo in IE is down to zero!
