Grid with XML won't show trailing whitespace in IE, but in FF

we've got some problems to show trailing whitespaces in grid. It works correct when we try it in the FF3, but when we use the IE7 the trailing whitespace is cut off.
You can try this even with the example XML grid, just change the XML data, e.g. "Microsoft Corporation" to "Microsoft Corporation ", insert an alert to show you the cell value if you click a row und you can see what I mean, it works in FF3 but not in IE7.
We use ActiveWidgets 2.5.2.
Is there any workaround?
