License Issues?

I am working on a project and I would like to use the ActiveWidgets API. Would the GPL licensing stop a company from distributing the ActiveWidgets API as part of the source of the application? Also, does it have any bearing on the ability to sell the product?

If your application is built using a GPL library then your application itself can only be distributed under GPL.

If you are building a commercial application you should not use ActiveWidgets under GPL. Instead you can buy ActiveWidgets commercial license, which allows royalty-free redistribution of ActiveWidgets code as part of your application. Please contact sales@activewidgets.com for details.
