Padding 'column': How do I get rid of it?

Hello

How do I get rid of the padding 'column' displayed when grid
displayed is smaller than the window/element in which it is
displayed.

I am aware that there was a similar post, but it was not
answered adequately. Did anybody solve this?

Thanks

Yes it was me who asked this I never actually got a solution for it and time was pressing for release so I had to leave it as is.

I would still like to know though so I can fix it in a update :)

As I understand it, there is no such thing as a separately identifiable "padding column". It just appears as such as it makes up the extra space between the defined columns and the right hand edge of the grid, according to the defined size of the grid.

In order not to see this extra space, therefore, the only things I think you can do are either reduce the width of the grid, or expand the width of your existing columns to make them up to the full width of the grid.

(not sure if this was said in the previous post you referred to - I haven't looked)

If it were a "padding column" then it would have a fly-over effect on the header and you would be able to click into one of it's cells. But you can not do either of these because it's not a column. I have been using the grid for almost a year and have over a thousand users on it and not one person has ever mentioned anything about this extra column because it's not an issue with them. I guess I don't understand why it's such an issue for you.

Yeah saying it's a column is a bit misleading
It is more a visual thing not a column with normal windows style grids you have nothing but gray space after the last column. So what we both are trying to achieve is no header and no grid lines after the last column.

I worked around the grid area by changing the DIV background colour in the grid output to match the colour of the grid lines not perfect since the header is still there but got round my beta testers :)

oh and it's not a issue with me personally but I have to answer to other people and they don't like it visually
