Mix Multiline and single line columns problem

Hi,

I have read the post about supporting multi line text on a column. However when i have a grid that has some columns that are multiline and some that are not, the single line ones seem to have an extra white border on the top which is visible when you have a custom cell background color.. Is there anyway to fix that?
