How do you make a Sortable Checkbox column Template?

Hi. I have read through the forum about making checkbox templates in columns. I have already managed to make the rowHeader a checkbox. But how do you store the checked state of the checkboxes? and i also want to be able to click on the corner template like a header and sort the rowHeaders according to the checked state of the checkboxes (i.e. all the checked ones first then the unchecked ones).

The XML data is retrieved from a server. So, after all the checking and unchecking, i need to return the values to the server, kinda like yahoo mail.
